  1. 13 year old Delhi school girl, Freya Thakral has been honoured with ‘The Diana Award 2020’ for developing ‘Recycler App’ which assists a user to connect with waste handlers enabling easy disposal of recyclable wastes. The United Kingdom based award is conferred in the memory of Diana, Princess of Wales to young minds contributing significantly for the development of the society.
  2. After Mangalyaan, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) aspires for India’s first Venus Mission, Shukrayaan-1. Aiming to explore the atmospheric parameters of Earth’s twin sister (Venus), the mission is scheduled for launch in 2023 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. It is also articulated that on-board this mission Swedish Institute of Space Physics is all set to explore Venus second time.
  3. Social media giant Facebook collaborates with Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in order to provide comprehensive training to students as well as teachers with respect to online safety while browsing the internet. The curriculum designed for the same is based on Augmented Reality (AR) that will enhance digital learning experience.
  4. All India Radio (AIR) to broadcast first ever weekly News magazine programme in Sanskrit language titled ‘Sanskrit Saptahiki’. The programme shall highlight the news from the world of Sanskrit literature. The broadcast shall take place on every Saturday for 20 minutes with repeat broadcast on Sundays at 100.1MHz frequency modulation (FM).
  5. After a prolonged slump of 110 days in the biggest motor sporting event of the world, Formula One returned to action with Valtteri Bottas of Mercedes winning the Austrian Grand Prix 2020. Further the second and third positions were secured by Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and Lando Norris (McLaren) respectively. The engines roared at Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria with no audience.
